New center dedicated to applications and drive system assembly
Aerotech, a motion control specialist, is significantly expanding its capabilities at its Fürth site. In addition to setting up a state-of-the-art laser laboratory, control electronics will also be assembled there. With this expansion, the company is responding to the growing global demand for its high-precision positioning and automation solutions, while strengthening its delivery capabilities in Europe.
The first phase of the expansion will focus on the assembly and testing of XA4 series motion controllers. This additional capacity aims to create greater production flexibility, contribute to the stabilization of supply chains, and further increase product availability in European markets.
“With the expansion of our Fürth site, we are investing specifically in growth, proximity to our customers, and operational flexibility,” explains David Holmes, Managing Director of Aerotech Inc. “By assembling drives locally, we accelerate our market response and increase our production while maintaining our high-quality standards.” The Fürth building was designed in 2016 to support future growth. The current initiative is therefore part of Aerotech’s long-term investment strategy to systematically develop and strengthen its presence in Europe.
A laser laboratory as a european center of excellence
Alongside the expansion of its assembly capabilities, Aerotech is setting up a new laser laboratory for laser material processing applications. In order to not only design processes theoretically but also verify them in interaction with real systems, Aerotech is creating the appropriate environment in Fürth, greatly facilitating collaboration with customers and stakeholders. Customers from across Europe will have the opportunity to test and optimize laser manufacturing processes under realistic conditions and develop them in collaboration with Aerotech. In the long term, the laboratory will serve as a European center of excellence for precision material processing.
