Amplitude wins the Asia Grand Prize for its export success

Since 2001, Amplitude Laser Group has been the world specialist in femtosecond lasers for industrial, medical, and scientific applications. The Group develops and designs high-performance, reliable, and user-friendly ultrashort-pulse lasers for applications including ophthalmic surgery, advanced semiconductor packaging technologies, advanced medical imaging and neuroscience, fundamental physics research, and inertial confinement fusion.

This expertise has been a key driver of the Group’s remarkable commercial and international growth. Today, 95% of its business is generated outside France. Amplitude combines research and innovation, customer support throughout project development, and industrial efficiency. With operations in Europe, Asia, and the United States, Amplitude provides its customers with high-quality local service and support.

The company generates 95% of its revenue from exports and benefits from the expertise of 410 employees, including 210 based in Pessac, France. The Group has been led by Damien Buet, President since 2023, succeeding Éric Mottay, the company’s founder and former CEO.

A major national competition was launched by Capital Export, with the support of Challenges magazine, to recognize French SMEs and mid-sized companies that are champions of international trade. Out of more than 200 selected applications, eight companies have received one of the International Capital Export – Challenges Grand Prizes.

These awards are based on the evaluation of an independent jury composed of prominent business leaders, including Sophie Sidos-Vicat (President of the French Foreign Trade Advisors and executive of the family-owned Vicat Group), Elizabeth Ducottet (Thuasne), Frédéric Sanchez (Chairman of Fives Group), Philippe Varin (President of the International Chamber of Commerce World Council and former Chairman of PSA, Orano, and Suez, as well as co-founder of the World Materials Forum), and Alain Bentejac (President of La Fabrique de l’Exportation).

Amplitude is an outstanding company that exports its expertise worldwide. It has achieved sustained business growth, with a broad international presence across Europe, the Americas, and more recently Asia. The Asia Grand Prize was awarded to Amplitude in recognition of its strong commercial positions in Japan, South Korea, and China, as well as the Group’s commitment to expanding into emerging markets such as India and Southeast Asia,” said Jean-Mathieu Sahy, President of Capital Export.

We are delighted to receive this award, which recognizes all the work accomplished by our teams over the past 25 years. Our Group possesses unique expertise on a global scale, and our export ambitions remain very strong. This growth momentum is driven by the continuous innovation of our employees in France and by the ability of our international teams to offer and adapt our products to local market requirements,” said Damien Buet, President of Amplitude Laser Group.
