> John LOPEZ, President
An engineer by training, John graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie et de Physique de Bordeaux (now ENSMAC). He then completed a PhD focused on laser excimer drilling of polymer materials at the University of Bordeaux, a formative experience marked by industrial collaborations that strongly shaped his career.
He joined the CNRS in 2001 as a research engineer at the CELIA laboratory, where he notably contributed to the creation of a technological platform dedicated to laser processes. This platform later evolved into the ALPhANOV technology center in 2006, where he served as Head of the “Laser Processes” department until 2011, before returning to his research activities.
He joined the CLP in July 2000, at the invitation of its then President, and quickly became involved in the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee as Secretary General. In 2010, he became President, a role he has held ever since with consistency and commitment.
On a daily basis, he leads the Board of Directors and oversees the association’s initiatives, ensuring its independence and capacity for action.
What drives him at the CLP
The trust, support, and positive feedback from members are at the heart of his motivation. Working for the collective, alongside committed, kind, and highly skilled individuals, gives meaning to his actions and fuels his long-term engagement.
In three words
Passionate, resilient, and a builder.
Outside of work
For him, the true luxury lies in having free time. Naturally active, he never gets bored—whether professionally or personally—but remains deliberately discreet about his hobbies.
His message to CLP members
“The CLP lives by and for its members. This fundamental principle guides our actions.”

> Fanny VOINSON, Communications Officer
Originally from Colmar and now based in Strasbourg, Fanny holds a DUT in Information & Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Culture & Communication.
She joined the CLP in 2015 after working for Petit Futé—a period during which she (almost) tested every restaurant in Alsace.
Today, she divides her time between the CLP and IREPA LASER, where she also works as a communications officer.
At the CLP, she leads the association’s communication strategy and its operational implementation: website, email campaigns, social media… She is also responsible for organizing the PLI Conferences and managing administrative follow-up (memberships, Board meetings, etc.).
What drives her at the CLP
What Fanny enjoys most about her role is the diversity of tasks, combining strategy, creativity, and action.
At the CLP, she particularly values the collective dynamic and the commitment of people—whether within the team, the Board, or the members. Testing, innovating, and pushing boundaries—always in a friendly atmosphere—are part of her daily routine.

Books and Fanny share a true love story. Her special trait? She mainly reads fiction in English.
A passionate traveler, she loves discovering new cities and exploring them on foot until exhaustion (even if packing remains a chore). A telling anecdote: London is one of her must-visit cities—with more than ten trips to her name!
Her message to CLP members
“The CLP is a network built collectively. Take part, exchange, and bring the network to life—that’s how it truly makes sense.”
