PLI Conferences 2025 & INSTITUT PHOTONIQUE: Word from a Co-Organizer

The PLI Conferences 2025 will take place on September 24 and 25 at the CCI Campus Alsace in Strasbourg. This major event dedicated to industrial laser processes brings together experts, researchers, manufacturers, and users each year to explore the latest technological innovations.

Organized by the CLUB LASER ET PROCÉDÉS, this high-profile event is co-developed with several key partners, including ICUBE, IPG PHOTONICS, IREPA LASER, PRECITEC, and the PHOTONICS INSTITUTE.

In this news item, we invite you to meet the people who bring this event to life. Today, we're heading to the PHOTONICS INSTITUTE, a key player in the industry, with an interview with Stéphanie Guglielmina, Project Manager.

Can you briefly introduce your organization?
Institut Photonique is a centre of excellence that came to light in 2024. It is the fruit of a joint effort from public and private actors of the Grand Est region and Luxembourg. Our goal is to become a reference in Europe in photonics and explore the various practical applications of light in different sectors, from health to energy. Institut Photonique is thought out as a catalyst for innovation, gathering more than 300 researchers and students around photonics. It is committed to carrying out research projects, encouraging the transfer of technology, drawing new talents in the field and promoting this discipline as a lever for economic and social development. Institut Photonique is the reflect of a collective goal whose aim is to illuminate our future using the science of light.

What motivated you to get involved in co-organizing this event?
The PLI Conferences perfectly fit with the Institut Photonique’s missions by highlighting the latest innovations related to laser processes and giving an opportunity to experts and players to gather and discuss their topics with an international scope.

In your view, what makes the PLI Conferences unique among industrial events?
The event is at the same time rooted in the Grand Est region and open to the international stage, which brings forth true opportunities to meet experts in the field. The program of the event is dense, with many constructive contributions.

How do you see the role of conferences like PLI in spreading laser innovations?
The PLI Conferences could be a starting point to the publication of a booklet or book giving a summary of the innovations that have been discussed during the event. It also could be an opportunity to strengthen communication related to these innovations, not only in specialized media, but also in non-specialized media.

A final word to encourage professionals to attend this edition?
The PLI Conferences give you a chance to meet both industrial and research-oriented experts in laser processes, to keep yourself updated with current works in progress, but also to think about the challenges linked to future innovations. It will be not only an enlightening, but also a friendly moment.

Through this interview, Stéphanie Guglielmina highlights the commitment of the Photonics Institute in the co-organization of the PLI Conferences 2025, highlighting their key role in the promotion of laser processes, the strengthening of synergies between European photonics players and the dissemination of innovations to serve industrial competitiveness.
Join this unique momentum—come meet industry leaders, discover the latest advancements, and exchange ideas at the heart of a dynamic ecosystem.

See you on September 24 and 25, 2025, in Strasbourg for two days filled with insights, networking, and future opportunities!
