The CLUB LASER ET PROCÉDÉS (CLP) reports a highly positive outcome for the 2025 edition of the PLI Conferences, held on September 24–25 at the CCI Campus Alsace in Strasbourg. Recognized as a leading event in industrial laser processes, this edition brought together 162 participants, 34 exhibitors, and featured 39 presentations, confirming its role as a key meeting point between research, innovation, and industry.
A dynamic hub for laser technology
The PLI Conferences 2025, organized in partnership with ICUBE, IPG PHOTONICS, IREPA LASER, PRECITEC, and the PHOTONIC INSTITUTE, brought together researchers, engineers, industry professionals, and decision-makers. The event highlighted the latest innovations in welding, additive manufacturing, surface structuring, and laser marking, as well as in laser sources, components for machine-tool design, beam metrology, and laser safety.
“PLI Conferences is a unique event in France, bringing together both industrial professionals and researchers in a friendly and collaborative environment. It is a privileged place where innovation meets industrial expertise,” explains John LOPEZ, President of CLP and Research Engineer at CNRS.
A rich and engaging program
This edition offered a wide range of presentations and roundtables on current topics:
- New processes for assembly, surface structuring, and precision cutting
- Applications of artificial intelligence in laser process monitoring
- Energy transition, explored through a dedicated thematic roundtable
- High-power and ultrashort laser technologies
Plenary sessions, in-depth technical presentations, and the AI-focused session attracted strong interest, confirming the scientific and industrial quality of the program.
Confirmed international reach
The PLI Conferences 2025 welcomed participants mainly from France (76.8%) and Germany (12.6%), with other countries representing 10.6% of attendees (United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States, Lithuania, Belgium, and Scotland).
This diversity demonstrates the European and global reach of the event and the growing international interest in French laser technologies.
A dynamic exhibition and networking space
The exhibition area, located at the heart of the venue, was highly appreciated for its open and fluid layout, encouraging exchanges between participants and industrial partners.
The networking evening on September 24 at Villa Quai Sturm was particularly praised for its friendly atmosphere, fostering new collaborations.
Technical visits to explore innovation
On September 23, several visits to companies and laboratories gave participants a first-hand look at laser innovations in action:
- PRECITEC in Gaggenau: demonstrations of laser welding, high-performance cutting, and additive manufacturing
- IREPA LASER: guided tours of workshops and industrial applications
- ICUBE: visit to the LaserSurf lab dedicated to ultrashort laser processes
- AERIAL: presentation of the Feerix irradiation station and advanced industrial facilities
A thriving laser ecosystem
The 2025 edition confirmed the strength and dynamism of the laser sector and the strong mobilization of the photonics community.
The PLI Conferences continue to fulfill their mission: promoting technology transfer, strengthening research-industry collaboration, and showcasing French and European laser innovations.
The CLUB LASER ET PROCÉDÉS already looks forward to the next edition, promising even more innovation and opportunities for exchange.
