New CLP member: meet IotaMetrix

In 2026, IotaMetrix joined the Club Laser et Procédés (CLP), further strengthening the network of stakeholders committed to the development and promotion of laser technologies and processes. A deeptech startup based in Limoges, IotaMetrix develops innovative super-resolution optical metrology solutions, opening up new perspectives for materials characterization.

On this occasion, we met with Simon Hédé, Business & Innovation Engineer at IotaMetrix. He reflects on his background, the company’s expertise, and the motivations that led IotaMetrix to join the CLP.

Could you introduce yourself in a few words?

“Simon Hédé, trained as a chemist. After completing my PhD, I sought to position myself at the interface of multiple fields of scientific excellence. This is why I now hold the position of Business & Innovation Engineer at IotaMetrix. Passionate about science, my role is to promote the innovations developed by IotaMetrix and to understand market needs so that our solutions are always as relevant and well-adapted as possible for you.”

Could you present your company and its core expertise?

“IotaMetrix is a startup founded in May 2025 by Alberto Aguilar and Pierre Bon, based in Limoges. We develop super-resolution optical metrology tools that enable real-time observation of materials that were previously either very difficult to characterize or extremely costly to analyze. Today, IotaMetrix is a team of five employees working to continuously improve and expand our skills and technologies.”

How did you hear about the CLP and why did you decide to join?

“The CLP was recommended to us by Sébastien Landon, Technical Director at QIOVA and board member of the CLP. After a brief discussion with Fanny Voinson, Communications Manager at the CLP, it quickly became clear—given our development strategy—that joining the association would allow us to meet its members and take part in the various events it organizes.”

What do you expect from this collaboration with the CLP?

“The opportunity to participate in high-quality events with equally skilled participants, and thus to create development opportunities both for ourselves and for CLP members, enabling us to grow together in our respective fields.”

What are the latest innovations your company is most proud of?

“Our benchtop microscope was finalized at the end of 2025 and will soon be available for laboratory testing under real operating conditions. We very much look forward to presenting it to you.”

IotaMetrix’s membership as a new CLP member in 2026 illustrates the attractiveness of a network that has been bringing together players from the laser and photonics industries for over 40 years. Through its missions of networking, visibility, and information dissemination, the CLP supports its members in developing their activities and promoting their innovations.

The CLP is delighted to welcome IotaMetrix into the association and to contribute to the dissemination of its super-resolution optical metrology expertise throughout the network.
