The Club Laser et Procédés is pleased to announce the next edition of the PLI Conferences, which will take place on September 22–23, 2027, at the Couvent des Jacobins in Rennes.
For this new edition, the PLI Conferences will take place in an iconic venue in the heart of Rennes, for two days dedicated to meetings, knowledge sharing and innovation in industrial laser processes and their applications.
A key event for the laser community
As a true meeting point for research, innovation and industry, the PLI Conferences bring together researchers, engineers, industry professionals, technology providers and decision-makers to discuss the latest advances in laser processes.
The 2026 edition confirmed the event’s strong appeal, with 160 participants, including 79% from industry and 23% international participants, as well as 38 presentations, 30 exhibitors and a networking evening attended by 140 participants.
Participants particularly appreciated the high technical level of the presentations, the quality of the speakers, the effectiveness of the networking opportunities and the friendly atmosphere that characterizes the PLI Conferences.
What to expect at the PLI Conferences 2027
The detailed program will be announced soon. Participants can already look forward to:
- High-level presentations delivered by French and international experts;
- An exhibition area showcasing the latest innovations in laser technologies and processes;
- Networking opportunities fostering discussion, connections and new collaborations;
- A social evening providing an opportunity to continue discussions in a friendly and relaxed setting;
- A thematic panel discussion, bringing together experts to share different perspectives and provide practical insights into the sector’s current challenges;
- An industrial site visit program, offering participants the opportunity to discover innovative industrial and technological facilities and meet the teams implementing laser technologies daily;
- A poster session dedicated to PhD students and young researchers, providing an opportunity to present their work, showcase their research and engage directly with the professional community.

The 2027 edition is organized in partnership with CAILABS, INSTITUT MAUPERTUIS and PHOTONICS BRETAGNE, three Brittany-based organizations committed to the development of innovative industrial technologies and processes.
CAILABS is a French deep-tech company based in Rennes, specializing in photonics and light shaping. Its CANUNDA product range enhances laser machining processes through innovative beam shaping and beam splitting solutions for high-power and ultrafast lasers.
INSTITUT MAUPERTUIS is an R&D and technology transfer center based in Brittany, specializing in innovative industrial processes. Its areas of expertise include laser applications, metal additive manufacturing, FSW, robotics and cobotics, from experimentation through to industrial integration.
PHOTONICS BRETAGNE is a technology innovation center and cluster dedicated to photonics, based in Brittany, France. It supports companies in the development and integration of photonic technologies, from R&D to industrial transfer, while bringing together a network of industrial and academic players from across the photonics sector.
The complementary expertise of these two organizations will contribute to making this new edition a key event for research, technology and industry stakeholders working in the field of laser processes.
