Through our "Spotlight on CLP Members" series, discover the companies that are driving innovation and shaping the future of the industrial laser sector. In this new interview, we meet LASERDISTRI SERVICE, a French integrator specializing in industrial laser technologies. Innovation, automation, safety and sustainability: learn more about their expertise, their latest projects and the value they find in being part of the Club Laser et Procédés (CLP).
Could you introduce your company, your activities and your expertise?
LASERDISTRI SERVICE is a French integrator specializing in industrial laser technologies. We design, assemble and integrate complete laser solutions tailored to each customer's specific needs.
Our core activities include pulsed and continuous laser cleaning, laser engraving, precision cleaning, as well as the integration of robotic cells and automated solutions. We also provide process development, testing on customer parts, operator training, technical support and after-sales service.
Our strength lies in our ability to support projects from start to finish. We work with large industrial companies, SMEs, specialized craftsmen and heritage professionals alike. As every application is unique, we systematically carry out testing to identify the most efficient, safest and most cost-effective process.
As a French system integrator, we place particular emphasis on regulatory compliance, operator safety and the quality of our installations. Our machines are delivered with all the necessary collective and personal protective equipment to ensure safe operation in accordance with industrial safety requirements.
What are the main technological challenges currently facing your customers or your industry?
The first major challenge is the transition towards more environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. Many companies are looking to replace conventional techniques that rely on chemical solvents, abrasives or high levels of consumables with clean, precise processes that generate no secondary waste.
The second challenge is controlling production costs. Manufacturers are looking for solutions that reduce downtime, improve process repeatability and minimize maintenance operations.
We are also seeing strong demand for automation. Companies want to integrate laser processes into their production lines using robots or cobots capable of operating autonomously while ensuring consistent quality.
Finally, safety has become a key priority. Industrial lasers are extremely powerful tools that require rigorous risk management. That is why we develop solutions that integrate operator protection, fume extraction, beam enclosure and regulatory compliance from the design stage.
Could you tell us about a recent project, innovation or laser application that you are particularly proud of?
We are currently involved in several exciting projects, but one of them perfectly illustrates how our business is evolving.
We are developing a fully automated solution for the tyre industry. The objective is to automatically clean large moulds using a robotic cell equipped with a rotary table, a cobot, a fume extraction system and a high-power laser source. This type of installation significantly reduces maintenance time while improving process repeatability and operator safety.
We are also very proud of the development of our range of portable laser machines, designed and integrated in France, together with our dedicated safety solutions. Among them is LASERSHIELD®, a protective tape specifically developed for high-precision laser cleaning applications, addressing concrete needs in demanding sectors such as the nuclear industry and heritage restoration.
What does your membership of the Club Laser et Procédés bring you daily?
It enables us to exchange ideas with researchers, industrial companies, system integrators, laser source manufacturers and end users who face similar technological challenges. These discussions are extremely valuable and often provide practical solutions to complex technical issues.
The Club is also an excellent source of technology watch. Laser processes are evolving rapidly, and it is essential to stay informed about new laser sources, innovative processes, regulatory developments and technological advances in France and internationally.
Being a member also strengthens our credibility with customers by demonstrating our commitment to remaining actively involved in the French industrial laser ecosystem.
In your opinion, why is it important today to be part of a network such as the Club Laser et Procédés?
The Club encourages collaboration on complex projects that require complementary expertise. In our business, projects often involve skills in optics, robotics, automation, laser safety, materials processing and metrology.
Beyond the technical aspects, the Club also contributes to promoting the French laser industry, whose expertise is recognized worldwide. It helps build a strong community capable of supporting the competitiveness of our industry.
How do you see laser technologies and their industrial applications evolving over the coming years?
Laser source performance continues to improve rapidly, with higher power levels, better beam quality and ever-increasing energy efficiency. This will open the door to new applications that were previously either technically or economically out of reach.
Automation will undoubtedly be one of the major trends. Laser systems will increasingly be integrated into intelligent robotic cells capable of automatically adapting process parameters according to the parts being processed, thanks to machine vision and artificial intelligence.
We also believe that laser technology will play a major role in the industry's environmental transition. The gradual replacement of chemical processes, abrasive techniques and waste-generating methods will help meet environmental requirements while improving process quality.
Increasingly powerful laser solutions, greater automation and more sustainable industrial processes: LASERDISTRI SERVICE perfectly illustrates the dynamism of the French laser industry. We would like to warmly thank their team for sharing their expertise and vision for the future.
