The 2026 edition of the PLI Conferences will take place on July 1 and 2, 2026, at the Beaublanc Stadium in Limoges. As every year, the Club Laser et Procédés is partnering with major local stakeholders to ensure the success of this flagship event dedicated to laser processes and their industrial applications.
On this occasion, we met with ALPHANOV, co-organizer of the 2026 PLI Conferences.
Interview with Sébastien Vergnole
Head of Development at ALPHANOV
Can you briefly introduce ALPHANOV?
ALPHANOV is a technology center specializing in optics and lasers. ALPHANOV supports industrial and research stakeholders in the development, validation, and integration of innovative laser solutions. In particular, ALPHANOV is a major player in the field of laser processes, covering a large part of the value chain, from process development to custom R&D systems. Our mission is to accelerate innovation and the development of emerging technologies by facilitating collaboration between research and industry.
Why did you choose to co-organize the 2026 PLI Conferences?
We chose to co-organize the 2026 PLI Conferences because this event is a central meeting point for the industrial laser processing community, bringing together researchers, engineers, industrial companies, and technology suppliers around the latest advances in the field. It is also an opportunity to highlight the Limoges ecosystem and our recent establishment within the Center for Microwave, Electronics and Photonics Innovation.
In your opinion, what sets the PLI Conferences apart from other industry events?
The PLI Conferences stand out for their highly technical and practical focus on industrial laser processes and their real-world applications. The event offers a rich and targeted program, including presentations by international experts, thematic sessions, round tables, a dedicated exhibition area for innovations, company visits, and—new this year—a poster session for PhD students. The event is therefore a unique forum for exchanges between the various stakeholders in the laser processing ecosystem.
What role do conferences such as the PLI Conferences play in the adoption of laser innovations by industry?
The PLI Conferences play a key role in the adoption of laser innovations by industry. They facilitate the dissemination of the latest scientific and technological advances to industrial stakeholders, encourage direct exchanges between experts and decision-makers, enable the sharing of practical feedback from applied projects, and ultimately create opportunities for collaboration and partnerships.
Why shouldn’t professionals miss the 2026 edition?
The PLI Conferences offer professionals the opportunity to discover the most recent innovations in laser processing, engage with international experts, meet potential partners, and take part in high-level discussions on future challenges and applications. The program includes not only expert presentations, but also a round table, company and laboratory visits, and a poster session. In addition, hosting the PLI Conferences in Limoges provides access to the local “ceramics” ecosystem and helps address challenges related in particular to their machining. All of these moments help expand professional networks and open up new opportunities.
